Busy times in the music room!

The first quarter has come and gone so quickly! All of the classes have been working very hard. I hope you have had a chance to see some of the videos of their work.

The chorus has been rehearsing for about a month and we are learning several winter songs including Minka, from Russia and Winter Fantasy, a partner song with Frosty the Snowman. As we have learned the songs, we worked on reading two part music. This is a skill that the students will use as they continue their singing in middle school and high school.

We have had some fun opportunities outside of school with Family Sing Night at Metea and Boys Power Sing at Nequa.

We are really gearing up for the 5th grade concert. The kids have been working very hard and they are sounding great. I think they have especially enjoyed learning the piece that requires about 50 drums. The music room has been rockin!
